Searching Your Computers Resources
You have probably noticed how it is usually much easier to search for and find information in the internet than on your own computer. Windows, up to and including Windows XP, has a search facility, but if you have ever used it, well, enough said. Omea ReaderOmea Pro provides several improvements for searching (and finding!) content on your computer:
- Indexed content: using technology similar to internet search engines, Omea ReaderOmea Pro indexes the resources stored on your computer, and also their content. Just as the index in a book makes it faster to locate references to some word or phrase, so a computerized index helps the computer to locate information much faster.
- All relevant resources: Searches return all types of resources relevant to the query. For example, if matching data is found in e-mail, instant messages, both web pages and news group articles, all these are returned by the search.
- Broad range of searches: Search queries can range from ultra simple... just a word or phrase... to highly refined.
- Different scopes: Search all resources, just within the list of a particular type, within the selected feed, newsgroup, or Outlook and file folder, or just within the selected item.
- Reusable searches: If you've built a very refined search that returns useful results that you will want to refer to often, you can convert the results to View and in the future have access to all the found resources with just a click.
